Found this thread today and thought it looks intriguing. There would need to be better predator proofing for sure, it's not without MANY flaws, but I like the idea just the same.

Good idea on the surface, but I wouldn't want to crawl around under there to collect eggs! And there's no roost. Wouldn't work for cold climates.

Our flock hangs out under our trampoline especially in the summer when they are free ranging. I wouldn't use it as a full time coop, but you could treat it kind of like an "chicken yard" if one wanted to give their chickens more room... Great in areas where there are lots of aerial predators.

Not a bad idea for foraging during the day. I agree, it would be great if hawks are a problem. I certainly wouldn't use it as their run and coop, though. I enjoy seeing creative spaces for chickens!
