Hello! This is Kat. West Central Indiana area.

I got my first chicks in 2023 from Cackle, Picked up another small batch in 2024 from Cackle and TSC. (I am noting the birth month year below).
Currently I am caring for 17 different chickens.
No roosters and no Bantams

2 Tolbunt Polish (April 2024) they are kept separately from the larger flock.
1 ISA Brown (July 2024) Egg laying champion! Missed 1 day in 2 years.
3 Gold Laced Wyandottes (July 2024)
1 Gold laced Cochin (April 2023)
10 Bielefelders (5 from 2023 and 5 from 2024)

Here in January I am currently harvesting close to a dozen eggs per day. Their feed has been Nutrena All Flock, Flock Party BSFL and Nutrena scratch. Oyster shell and grit suppliments. The occasional treats of Yogurt, Kefir, watermelon, pumpkin, grapes, hamburger and pink salmon! Polish are on the Nutrena Ornamental, but they will consume All Flock too. They love it all.

Hiya, Kat, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Is there a chance you'd consider downsizing and just keep three or four of your youngest hens? In a few years, you could pick up a few chicks or pullets to grow up for when they grow old. Maybe a smaller operation would fit in for you better? Just a thought, as we don't know your reasons, but know you will miss them. :hugs

Besides our Buy/Sell forum here, I'd also try your local/state poultry groups on Facebook.

We're glad you're here!
