A quick introduction
I am new to FL (1yr) and fairly new to raising chickens and ducks, my first group were all bought and raised together, I have 4 hens, 1 Rooster and 2 female Pekin ducks. They all seem to get along great although the Roo is mounting everything in sight now. All are laying eggs.
In a brooder I (hopefully) have 7 more pullets. 5 are 3 weeks of age and 2 are 2 weeks.
My first experience in buying chickens didn’t pan out so well, I ended up with 3 Cornish cross meat chickens and 2 roosters in the batch. I had to rehome one Roo and we processed one meat chicken, the other 2 meat chickens I lovingly call the fat sisters do lay eggs almost daily. I also got one that is either a black Cornish or a gold laced Wyandotte, (was told it was a Wyandotte). The last 2 are Silkies, a white Roo and a golden color bantam hen. And of course my 2 pekins which I love. All purchased from Tractor Supply.
My second batch I have now purchased from a local feed store , hopefully I got it right this time and don’t end up with any more roosters
