An old newbie

I just spend several days with a daughter on her Oklahoma farm, just talking to the chickens and watching them go about their daily business. It made me very nostalgic for my "Mother Earth" period 40 plus years ago, when my kids were toddlers on our 1.5 acre farmlet and we had chickens, waterfowl, rabbits, pigs, and a cow (my bovine therapist). I'm giving serious thought to having half a dozen hens in the near future, and want to update everything I already know about chickens...or should I say what I remember about chickens, since my memory is a lot shorter than it was 40 years ago! So here I am, the place my daughter says she find the answers to all her chicken questions.

:welcome :frow I can relate. I had my first flock around 50 years ago then went into the military and when I got out moved to a place where birds weren't allowed at that time. Many years ago moved to our farm and now I have around 400 birds. Good luck and have fun...
