Rest in Peace 1963-2021
Well the kiddos just turned 12 weeks old today so I thought I would post up some pics of them from throughout last week. They are such a hoot. They love spinach leaves, thawed frozen peas, my tomatoes and their new love....the florets of broccoli. They expect me to hold the stem and allow them to pick off the florets. So yes, I spent my evenings holding snacks for the kiddos. hahahaha They have me so well-trained.
My GWH drakes are just my little buddies, they are always leading the pack coming towards me for snacks and attention. Draccus loves have his chest scratched and Jack likes having his back rubbed and they both love being rubbed on the underside of their bill. Goofy boys. Michael-Michelle and Midas just tolerate my pats and scratches but their goal is to get close to the snack lady period!
The Anconas are just a mess all the way around. My big mouth of the bunch is my Lavender Ancona, Sasha. I sent her pictures to Dave Holderread and asked what color variety she was...silver, lavender or ?. I got a reply back that says she is a lavendar. Her adult feathers will make the final determination of lavendar vs silver, there is a small chance she could turn out to be silver but a very small chance. YAY because she is going to be pair with my black male.
So, on to the pics.
During the day in their pool and tractor while the duck house is being completed. We had a week of 104-108 degree days so they had plenty of shade, water and even a spray going for them.
This is what I get when they see me walk outside and sit down on the "snack step"
When the snacks are gone I get this look...a lot. It is the look that says "Woman...get in that house and get more now...we are waiting!"
This is what I get when I say "Ok Nite Nite babies"
They haul butt in the opposite direction at Mach III with their feathers on fire and ignore me. They do not like to hear "nite nite babies" because that means no more running, flapping and getting into everything.
