Anacharis for ducks?

We live next to a river that has huge clumps of anacharis growing in it. Is is safe for ducks to eat? I have three Khakis that only seem to eat their pellets/grain if they also have some green food (is that normal or are they spoiled) since we live in Nor Cal there isn't much green stuff around this time of year, so I was thinking of "harvesting" the water weeds.
