My LGD is 1/2 Anatolian Shepherd and 1/2 Great Pyrenees. I was wondering if anyone else would like to share pictures of their crosses for comparison purposes. He was on the shorter coat side of his litter. Some of his brothers have the Pyr fluff. He has a thick undercoat, but he doesn't have the puffy look (to me, anyway). He has all the Anatolian lean/rub habits, and he doesn't jump/wander at all. He has single dews on all four feet and webbed paws that really help in the snow, and he's about 110 lbs. He will be 9 months in a few days.

At 9 weeks:

I saw an anatolian/pyr pup in the sale threads last week, but it's gone now. Gave me the idea to see who else is using this cross, and how it's going for them. There are some major structural and personality differences in the two breeds, so I was curious to see other examples of the cross.

Who knows, maybe no one else has pics... Worth a shot, though

Yes, I only have Dierks for now. We will be adding at least one female for the fence instincts, but I don't see that happening until it warms up! Dierks is more interested in movement than checking for weak areas of fence for predators to enter. He is excellent at perimeter barking, and alerting to problems. He's also broken through the fence to get into the doe pen when a fox got in and attacked our smallest doe. He ran that sucker off, and I'm glad. I was at work!

He is still very much a puppy and he runs in separate pens than encircle the goat pens when not supervised. He wants to play with the goats, and that is not tolerated here. He's very content with his 1/4 of the doe barn and his run. It's about an acre.

It sure is something to see a 100+ lb animal bounce in the snow...

I really don't know how much he weighs but i have a female GP and she weighed in at 90 pounds at a year old when i got her fixed and he is 2 times bigger than her and way bigger than my rottweiler also.

He also has the biggest head i have ever seen on a dog.
