Anatolian Pyrenees puppy

Another thing - this breed picks up on the energy field of others, including yours. If there is something amiss, they will react and potentially attack another person / stranger who you "say" with your energy might not be wanted or invited. That is what they are supposed to do. By the same token, if you tell them "it's ok" or whatever your training words will be to know something is acceptable, they should immediately stand down, this includes one off strangers like service people who are there once and gone. Best to leave them separated.

I haven't read all the replies, s maybe someone else wrote this.

If you want to establish "dominance" when you deed him call him by name have him sit, then put the dish down. When he understands that he has to sit before he gets food, move to the next step. When he sits place your hand on his back side just above the tail to maintain the sit. Set the dish down. Count to two and give him a "release word". Don't use "okay" because we use that word often. I use "at ease". Let Rooster go. Make the wait a little longer each day or so. You control food which increases your rank. Never just toss treats to him. Always a reward for something.

The food release word will come to mean "do what you want". Eat, chase the coyote, get in the truck,...

I'm glad you have the Beatle so Rooster can learn how to interact with other dogs.

Rooster has been a very easy dog so far. Listens and is super gentle. He is stubborn about coming inside when it's time. But that's good since he is eventually going out full time. He is in no way food motivated but already goes to his kennel when told. He is not food aggressive at all and let's my beagle take his bone. He has been such a good addition. He's growing so fast! 20250221_141736.jpg

Hes growing so fast. Gaining 1 to 3 lbs a week. Still gentle with the chickens but does like to chase them. Very observant for a puppy. He's 16 weeks Saturday

My girl is pregnant so will be having Anatolian/pyr puppies in a couple weeks. Going to the vet Monday for a checkup on her. These are absolutely 1 of the best dogs I’ve ever owned.

Beautiful pics BTW

He has been so different than any puppy I've ever owned. Not a hyper nut job. Very observant but is stubborn
