I just finished my coop last weekend (will post pics and such at a later date). We're suppose to get some healthy wind gusts over the next couple of days and figured I better anchor it - if it ever tipped over, I'd never get it back up without some major complications - weighs a ton.

I was planning to pick up these anchors over lunch. https://www.menards.com/main/outdoo...ar-anchor-kit/p-1444450881963.htm?cm_vc=PDPZ1

Any thoughts on them???

My other idea is drilling angled holes through the horizontal 2 x 4's in contact with the ground and pound 3 to 4 foot pieces of rebar through the holes on angles into the ground. Any better? Or, any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

For the same price, you can get "mobile home" anchors (and straps). They're for anchoring mobile homes, sheds, storage buildings, etc. They're similar in design as the playground one, but larger and more durable. Lowes and Home Depot carry them. No idea how big your coop is, but I'd suggest at least giving them a look.

Planning to anchor it this weekend! I survived last night's winds without incident!
