I have 2 Ancona ducks. They are about 4 months old and seem to be beginning to fly. They flap their wings and basically are getting a foot or two off the ground. I was looking online and found they should not be able to fly. Do I need to clip their wings or is this normal?

If your worried they may leave it might be a good idea. That said most domestics can't fly but that doesn't mean some won't. I remember some one saying their Swedish would fly off to the pond during the day and fly home at night, that would make me very stressful worrying he would get killed by something. I have Muscovy and I do clip on wing to keep them home. After they are older and heavier they may not be able to get off the ground far. You can wait and see or clip one wing and make sure. All ducks will flap their wings and get some lift .

In case you decide
