Four broody hens so far and I have a couple more that are thinking about going broody. Plus my mallard is attempting to hatch again.
I have to mark the eggs I give my broody hens because other hens tend to lay eggs in the nest with them. Then broody pulls that egg under them.
I have 22 eggs under this group and each additional broody will get six eggs as long as my stockpile lasts.
Hopefully, I’ll only have about two more.
I get excited and it’s hard not to disturb them to check eggs every few days, but I got dates written down and a schedule for candling. This time I’m sticking to it.
