Took DD out for a ride today cause she was bored...Drove down this little country road a mile or two from our house. Came around the bend and saw what is probably one of the most inhumane things that I have ever seen.
There in the side yard right next the road was a small goat tied up on a rope maybe 3 feet long eating a bag of garbage. Behind the goat was a pile of 8 or 9 other shredded bags of trash that had obviously been dinner for the last few days.
I slowed down, really really really wanted to stop and steal the goat but this is one of those areas where those signs about trespassers being shot arent a joke.
So, I consoled myself with the fact that as soon as I got back to civilization and could get a cell signal, I could call AC.
DD was hysterical about the whole thing. It was traumatic for both of us, not to mention the goat.
However, I can dispel one goat myth after today....they DONT eat tin cans. That was about the only thing left in the pile.
Will be checking on the situation next week to see if AC made them make changes. I dont hold much hope so plan B of kidnapping the goat after dark some evening is not out of the question or if DH wont agree to that maybe he will stop in and ask if we can buy the goat? But then I would see the chickens and the dog up close and you just knooooow that they wont be in any better shape.
Egads....going to find the Advil...
