Well I spent the morning doing a thorough cleaning of the sportsman.

It has been 3 weeks since we sorted birds.

Almost everyone is laying, less the Wheaten Marans, who are messing with me by laying only one egg every 3 or 4 days. (There are 13 Hens / Pullets)

I will spend today making sure everyone else is prepped and ready with clean nesting materials, and clean coops / runs (OK, that is a big order)

I suppose it would be good to run a temp / humidity check.

    First up

    Followed by Araucanas

With a few duck eggs in the mix for variety.

Who knows, I might even consider some others (<~~~~~ Some form of denial)

Once (many years ago) did a mixed hatch. Lord forgive me! 10 bo's and 4 ducks. I never once gave thought to the fact that "Ducks pip at 28 days". I didn't even think about it until the day before lock down. I had only 24 hrs to get the other bator perfect. I was almost a mass murderer.[IMG] I hope that isn't what you meant. [IMG] I'm hoping the best for you.[IMG]

We use a continual hatch method in the sportsman.

Every week we hatch, and every week we add more eggs to the top.

Once we get things going it is new chicks or in this case ducklings, every weekend.
