And so it begins ( I could use a bit of advice please)

Are you kidding?? Your spouse reported you?? I hope you're not living with that a**hole anymore. What a malicious human being...

I'm afraid I can't help you with this but good luck!!!! Keep us updated.

Don't worry the 'foul' has been removed even if the 'fowl' are still here

What if you housed them in a moveable tractor? Then they could be 50ft from your house... then the next day 50ft from the neighbor... etc...

Read the wording of the law... does it have to be 50ft from every building at the same time or would once a week be enough?

I just got good news! The inspector came back and gave me a copy of the NEW ordinance. Technically we are in compliance. The ordinance states that they have to be maintained ina sanitary manner, secured in a coop, enclosure or pen and must be 15 feet from our property line. SO I do have a place in the yard that would be in compliance where I could build a coop BUT I am also in compliance by keeping them in the house. The inspector himself pointed out that I have 'enclosures' (ie their cages that they sleep in at night). He is going to mail me the application and I will include in that the letters from my neighbors. Wish me luck!

I thought 50 ft was an awful lot!! Glad the inspector is being so helpful, must understand it was some one trying to harrass you!

Yes he understood when I told HIM who had turned me in and why I had been turned in in the first place.

Oh the ordinance also reads that you may keep X number of MATURE animals....none of ours are 'mature' yet so I'm not in violation anyway lol

Congratulations!!!
It's always nice to hear when government people are supportive of situations like this.
And your neighbors sound like lovely people, too!!
