Well Finally!!! I have 17 chickens as of today. 5 of them are 20 weeks and 3 days old. We have had the red as fire combs and wattles for a couple weeks now, doing the squat dance for you when you get near and bawk bawk bawking the day away for a week. Well went out to check and see what was the matter, there was such a ruckus in the coop and imagine my surprise when in the nest box I see a girl and she is looking very intent on doing something! So I gave her an hour and when I went back this is what I found---[IMG]

Now ---- All I have to do is figure out whick one did it! They aren't talking!

Don't you hate it when they give you the silent treatment? Finding those first few eggs is so much fun. It makes you feel like Queen of the Universe! [IMG]

Congrats on your first egg! Isn't it exciting!! [IMG] It seems like they'll never lay but then finally they do!!! [IMG]

Good luck figuring out who the prime suspect is...Mine have been laying for a little less than a month and I only know which eggs 2 of my chickens are laying. I'm trying to figure out the rest since they are all different shade of brown, blue, green or pink! I have 11 chickens and the most I've gotten in a day was 7 eggs, so far.

Look at their vents. The "culprit" should have a vent that is moist & pink.

Congrats on the egg! I can't wait for our first ovum.

Day two and we got 2 "fart eggs today" so now I have 2 of them laying, everyone finding the nest box okay as I have not found any in the shavings yet or the run. I love it when a plan comes together! A couple more and I might have enough of those tiny things for an omlet!
