I had a chicken scared off by a racoon one night who managed to get the latch open on my hen house.(smart little creature) She was missing for a full day! i think she hid under nealth my shed..but i could not see her.
it happens to all of us somehow..some way.

I know how you feel... one morning I was in the kitchen waiting for the coffee to brew... I looked out the window and noticed some of my chickens out in the front pasture... very quickly I realized that this meant I hadn't put them up the evening before. I ran outside in my pj's and socks... it was really cold and had been raining but I didn't care... had to make sure all of my girls were okay. Thankfully, I was very lucky and everyone was okay... whesh, that was stressful... it was 3+ years ago and I still remember that terrible sinking feeling!
