Yogi it's impossible to really respond to what you said. There is no way
I can comprehend what you guys went through, or your grandmother either.
I suppose being aware of the fact I can't comprehend it means something,
although it is a joke in comparison. I have friends who were Vietnam veterans.
We have talked about it. All I can do is sit, listen, and try to understand.
I have a customer who was a pow in WW2. I actually asked him "what was
that like?". He looked at me and smiled. I felt so stupid for asking such a
ridiculous question.
My son and I have just started watching "The War". For those who don't know
it's the latest documentary about the lives of the people who struggled and battled
through World War 2. It's not a political commentary. It's just those amazing
people telling what happened in their own words. When I speak to people
about letting my 7 year old son watch this they think I'm nuts. I see no better
way to teach him about war and the human condition.
I hope the same guy who produced this documentary makes one on Korea and
Vietnam. Most people just don't have a clue of what really happened and the lives
that were affected or snuffed out.
Thanks Yogi and Repo for even posting back to me on this. I'm honored you would
share this with me.
