You may have seen my posts yesterday about being concerned adding 6 more day old chicks to our brooder that already had 6 1 week olds wandering around in it. And that we'd gotten the call that the chicks were in and my truck was being serviced and I had a 4:30 boss's boss meeting AND that the feed store would be closing at 6....blah blah blah blah...
ANYWAY, my truck was finished on time, the meeting ended at 5:20 once everyone finally shut up so we were able to race over and pick up our 6 BO chicks
Got them home, put them in the brooder and stood there watching for a while. After some initial flustering and flapping around, everyone calmed down. The new chicks found the feeder and the water and the original inhabitants decided these little guys were welcome in their home. We checked in again a few hours later and they were all snoozing together peacefully as if they'd been together all along
I knew the first six had grow since we got them a week ago, but it was really amazing to see exactly how much once we put the new ladies in there with them. Here they all are together, just being chickens:
