I have a flock of 6 chickens, all about 2 1/2 months old. I picked out a straight run Barred Rock, knowing there was a chance it would be a roo. Also a straight run bantam which turned out to be a Silkie. The rest were supposed to be pullets. One of my black "pullets" turned out to be a roo, and the Barred Rock crowed this morning. No idea about the Silkie's gender yet. But I'm wondering if I need to get rid of one of the roo's? Is the flock too small for two roosters? They seem to get along okay, one will challenge the other once in awhile, but the barred rock usually backs down pretty quick. Any help would be great, thank you!

Two roosters for that number of hens will lead to excessive wear and tear on the hens. Eventually the roosters will probably have a knock down/drag out to determine who is flockmaster.

Thank you, that's what I was wondering. What should I do if my bantam silkie turns out to be a rooster also? Since it's so small, will it challenge the rooster? I really don't want to get rid of the silkie, but I don't think it would make a very good flockmaster lol!
