The carport was installed this morning. Next we will start installing the hardware cloth/fencing and then work on building the new coop. I am very happy with how it turned out! I will be adding lots of plants around it to help keep it shaded in the summer. The left side faces south so it will get lots of sun in the winter.

Please ignore the tarps over the temporary run fence. The noise of them installing the carport scared the girls, so I tried to block their view.

So is the car port the coop? Run? Or both? Cool idea either way.

The carport is the run. We needed a covered run so they can be outside everyday. Then we will be building a wooden coop underneath it. It will be raised about 2 feet off the ground so they won't loose any space in the run. I wanted something that looked nice as well as being functional because as you can see by the walkway on the left, we have to walk past it to go in and out of our house. I have been waiting since 2011 for a new coop so I am beyond excited!
