Sheets are a great idea for shade. That shade cloth stuff is over twenty dollars for a 6' x 16' piece at Walmart.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with sheet curtains! I loved the ones I had back in San Diego. IKEA had some great deal and I got some nice white ones for a couple bucks a piece. I hung them up on satin nickel rods. They let the light and the ocean breeze in, but people couldn't see in. They were so easy to take care of too. Just toss in the wash and hang up again. Now I have plantation shutters and I'll never go back to drapery again.
