I live in a neighborhood in Anderson County SC. I am researching local laws and can't find anything. I have found Anderson city laws but not county. I am currently checking with my HOA as well. Any help? Thanks

Under Anderson County Animal Regulations, this is the only thing I found that comes close:

"Pet means any animal domesticated by humans so as to live and breed in a tame
condition for the benefit of humans."

Now, seems to me chickens are domesticated by humans. The live and breed in tame condition. And they do provide eggs, meat, and entertainment for humans, so that's a benefit from them. Their definition, not mine. Maybe these communities and counties would have far less problems with the backyard chicken owner if they'd learn to craft their ordinances and regulations without such vague wording.

Thank you. I hadn't found that yet. I completely agree. Things are written on purpose to be that vague.
