About 5 years ago there was a member on the goose forum who said her adult Muscovy had angel wing what she did was wait till fall molt when they molt out their flight feathers and when they started growing back in then she wrapped and it fixed the angel wing. I think it would def be worth trying. In the meantime clip the wings so the duck doesn't catch her wing on anything.I just resuced a Muscovy & a Cayuga both are approximately 1 yr old, ( so I was told).
The Muscovy has Angel Wings, can someone please give me some advice on how to help/fix them.
Without sounding stupid, which part of the wing do I clip??? I don't want to hurt her.About 5 years ago there was a member on the goose forum who said her adult Muscovy had angel wing what she did was wait till fall molt when they molt out their flight feathers and when they started growing back in then she wrapped and it fixed the angel wing. That is interesting, @Miss Lydia . There are 2 dumped muscovy drakes with angel wing on a retention pond near me. One is lilac and they both appeared together, along with a pekin drake, hence saying they were dumped. I have been planning to catch both drakes when they are coming up to molt because I had decided to try and bind the wings as the new feathers are emerging. It might work although the wing joints might hsve been displaced by the weight of the protruding feathers. But I think it is worth a try. The two dumped boys will be far better equipped to survive in the wild if they can gain some flight. I tried to catch the pekin when I first saw him but he was already too wiley for that. He has a couple of female mallards that he bosses around, and they seem very happy . The mallards chose to stay as I assume they can flyAbout 5 years ago there was a member on the goose forum who said her adult Muscovy had angel wing what she did was wait till fall molt when they molt out their flight feathers and when they started growing back in then she wrapped and it fixed the angel wing.
