Angelwing and breeding question

So, I have 10 week old geese. I have been reading all there is to know about geese for about a year in preparation for getting these guys. I wanted Africans because of their great personalities and intended to get 4 for the purpose of getting a breeding pair from the group. I am fully aware of what their diet is supposed to entail and have watched for the warning signs of angelwing. Wouldn't you know it... within 3 weeks despite eating a correct diet 2 had obvious angelwing, 1 was questionable and 1 was fine. The one that is fine was mislabeled from the hatchery and is NOT an African, but a Toulouse. That gosling is not helpful to my breeding plan. The questionable gosling is OK at 10 weeks and does not have angelwing. The other 2 with angelwing are awaiting my decision...

I understand that the condition is hotly debated... Some say dietary, some say hereditary. I need the input from folks that actually raise geese and have been around them. I believe that the likelihood of angelwing being genetic is pretty compelling, but I'd like some other views before I make any decisions.

My question is this: Knowing that angelwing is (most likely) a genetic disease with a dietary trigger should I not use geese that have the condition for breeding? I am seriously considering culling these birds because this is not a condition that I want in my flock. Does anyone use birds with angelwing for breeding? What is the prevalence of the condition in the off-spring? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a goose with it and none of his offspring has gotten it. O bought him that way.

I have a duck that had it, none of its parents had it and I taped the wing up and in 5 days it was gone. The duck did not have it when I bought it, when it started to gets its feathers is when it started to show...............
