Angled top to laying boxes?

I've notice after looking at most coop designs is that most everyone has installed an angle top to their laying boxes. Is there a reason for this?

I can only imagine is that it is to stop the chickens from roosting on the top of the laying boxes. Is there any other reason?

no othe reason except when they nest there they will poop there to.

We slanted ours to discourage them from roosting there.
