I see alot of posts about roosters who are just,, well,, angry birds... Well I too have a rooster who is overly aggressive.

He has always been so gentle but I understand he is growiing up. He is 4 months old now andthe last few weeks he has been biting, which only resulted in a pinprick on my finger, but as he grows he will do more damage. He only does this when you reach down to touch him or into his food, he doesnt seek you out to launch an attack. I have been picking him up and calming him down and talking to him. When he is calm and cool I let him go. I dont want to dominat him like some other posts have suggested, I just need him to not bite. He doesnt like the neighbors kid because he was tormented by him when he was younger, I quickly stopped him from coming near my birds, but now if the kid comes close to the coop he will fly at him and scratch. I want him to settle down, I like him and need advice
. Thanks in advance!!!!!!

I'm hoping it will calm him and let him know I'm not the bad guy. He likes to be stroked on his chest, like most chickens, and he will calm and the bright red color on his comb and wattle will fade to normal red. I will sit with him on my lap after he calms and he will sit there with me and clean his feathers. He is free to go while he is on my lap not restrained, I'm not sure if this technique will work but he calms down alot when I do this. Any suggestions?
