My 6 month old Ameraucana was chased by a dog last week until she collapsed. She had no visable external injuries. I isolated her in the coop. She seemed okay the next day, but subsequently has sequestered herself in a nesting box and seldom emerges. She has been given water with electrolytes and food which she has reluctantly ingested. I have nudged her out, thinking she might be a bit broody. However, as far as I can tell, she is not laying. She pecks and hisses at anything and everything that comes near her. Both eyes are dilated and she blinks frequently. She just seems to be so angry. I isolated her to a crate, but that seemed to make her even angrier and she took the first opportunity to escape.

Hi there. It sounds like she's broody. Does she come out at all? At least once a day to poop, eat and drink? She'll cluck like she's already got babies when she's out. She won't lay while broody either.

Only when physically removed and then hurries back in.
If she's broody then putting her in a crate without bedding for a few days or so will break her. She'll be mad of course, and do everything to get out maybe.
