Well, the cat is in trouble! I had an incubator and a hatcher set up. In my hatcher I had some eggs that needed higher humidity than chicken eggs. I had 9 duck eggs that my broody gave up on, my quail eggs from the March swap and several other duck eggs. My cat in the middle of the night decided to jump up on the hatcher/incubator; in doing so she pulled the whole thing down to the floor. Those 9 duck eggs were due for March 31 - it was my first time incubating duck eggs for me and although they were mutts I was looking forward to them. Same thing on the quail - total loss. The duck eggs were basicly ruined. All were developing, and the embryo mess was really gross to wake up to - had my youngest son in tears. He has witnessed many a hatch, but considered the duck eggs "his". Some of them I popped back into the bator - they were a mess of crumbled shell, but the membrane was, amazingly enough, intact on some - no leakage. But, there was no patching things up with glue or wax. Darn cat - I know it's her revenge for me booting her out of the bedroom last night! She usually sleeps with me, but had kept me up the night before playing on the bed while I was trying to sleep so I shut her out of the bedroom last night. I guess she showed me what happens when she sleeps in the living room..... I don't hold out much hope for anything that was in the hatcher, but what semi-survived is back in there.
PDATE _ THEY MADE IT
