I have a hen that goes Broody 3x a year. She is an excellent Mom and hasn’t had any issues hatching and raising chicks before. I gave her some eggs back in March, so they were due to hatch this week. I feel horrible because my husband and I were out of town last night and it looks like two chicks were beginning to Pip sometime yesterday. We came to check today and the two attempting to hatch were essentially shrink wrapped to the egg and didn’t make it. My broody hen at some point jumped in the wrong nest box so those two eggs got too cold. There are 3 eggs left that were developing fine but have yet to pip. They were cold to the touch. My question, is there any hope for the 3 unhatched eggs that were cold to the touch if I get them back warm under the broody hen? My broody hen was probably off the nest for a full day if I had to guess. This has never happened.
