Eighteen days ago, I started with twenty four eggs (four each of six breeds). I just took them out of the auto-turner a few minutes ago for one last candling. Now have sixteen remaining and laying on the bottom of the bator. Temp and humidity seem good. Like everyone, I had hoped for a better hatch rate

but this is the first for me and it would appear, if all goes well, I may finish up with only a forty to fifty percent success rate. Of course, half of those will probably be Roos? I'm not certain if BYC members are allowed to mention "specific" suppliers, whether they advertise here or not

but I do intend to go ahead and order a couple dozen chickies after this hatch is completed. Maybe I will try to incubate again in the Spring. Wish me luck and hope to hear from some of you who are also in lockdown, hatching on Tuesday.

im on days 20 and 19 i have one pip but only 8 eggs out of 30 something. my hatch rate sucks BUT it was cuz we had a lengthy power outage and most of the embryos died because of that . i am going to be adding more eggs SOON ( next week) to see if i get a better rate...

but the wait is killing me right now.. the one is pipped and i am sitting on my hands waiting! lol

I began lockdown today (18th day) and I have 4 eggs rocking and rolling tonight!!!!! I can't wait

I started with 10 shipped eggs and 5 were developing until day 10 and then I had a blood ring and no veins left in one. I will have 40% hatch if these 4 hatch. I'm so excited:lol:
