I have a gold comet gone broody for the first time,7 months old, several of my hens lay in the same nest with the broody one,I don,t have a rooster .will she stop being broody if I just take the eggs from under her everyday,I took her off the nest today to get the eggs that the other hens had laid, she was furious,,puffed her feathers out and screamed at every hen in the coop,I plan to remove her from the nest several times a day and see how this goes before putting her in a wire bottom cage for several days,,darn hussy wanted to rip my arm off,,good thing I had on gloves,,,

you might as well put her in a cage shes got it bad, and the longer you wait the longer it will be to break her i.e. 1 day broody 2 days to break.

How long will she stay broody if I remove the eggs everyday? My other hens lay early in the morning and I remove the eggs as they lay,,my first time dealing with a stubborn hen

If you take her eggs every day, she will probably stay broody even longer than if you just gave her fertilized eggs to hatch.

thanks for the response,,looks like this hen is going to be a jailbird for a while
