So my other Jap hen went broody tonight.
Past week or so, there has been new eggs in all three 5gal bucket nests. I have no idea if the same hen laid all the eggs or not. I put the eggs in the 1st nest and 6th egg was laid yesterday. I don't know if there is a 7th.
She was hunkered down on the nest the same way the other broody is. She didn't even pick up her head when I come in. Mind you, my Japs all turn and watch me very wearily whenever I am near. Only the Silkies are glad to see me, lol.
5 eggs were there before I started treating the flock with Duramycin-10, so one or two new eggs may contain it. Not sure if that will affect the eggs if hey are fertile or if they would be messed up.
Guess I'm gloating or asking Q's, but either way, I just hope the 5 are fertile, lol.
Anyone with cheap-o eggs to send me to put under her? I want something to hatch....
