ANOTHER Cat Vent

It seems to be my two younger cats mainly, a mother and son, son is fixed, mom isn't and can't be due to bad heart murmur.
I have been tossing son outside during the day but I am coming close to just making him a permenent outside cat, we do have a large barn he could get into anytime.
The mother I am thinking about bringing to the pound.
I have listed both on local craigslist multiple times but no one wants them.

Wish you lived closer. A couple more barn cats around this place wouldn't hurt anything.

When we brought Kitty home, she was just three weeks old. We just put food and water out for her and she stayed around. Of course, we live in a very isolated area so there really wasn't any place for her to go. Never used a litter box when she was living outside, but she took right to one when we decided to bring her in part-time.

Yep. Around here Kitty had to worry about coyotes, but only if she wandered outside the fenced yard. The only thing would come inside the yard is the bobcat hybrids. She learned to climb really high at a young age.

pineburrowpeeps..If you have a female that is not fixed when she comes in heat she will spray and mark her territory.. also if cats have used the floors before it gets into the wood under the carpet and new cats will smell it and my use that spot. I know the big home improvement stores make some kind of floor seal you can put on the wood under the carpet. (once you rip it up) that stops the smell from coming back..I dont know what its called but had a friend that used it and it worked. hope this helps

if not you can put them outside they will adapt..my sister had this problem and her cat became the best mouser ever! good luck

If your feeling spunky put some dirt or soil in a litterbox I have seen this work a few times.

My cat peed in the bathtub twice. It was bloody. She had a bladder stone.........oh, may I mention it was a 2,000 dollar bladder stone the first time? I think she wanted me to know she was ill.

She hasn't done it since.

Mrs. Glassman :

We have had to banish one of our cats to the yard. I don't know what came over her, but suddenly she made a habit of pooping on DS while he was asleep...everytime he was asleep.

Sometimes it was his chest, sometimes the top of his head, sometimes just on his pillow. You always knew it had happened, early in the morning. as he woke up, you'd hear crying & near cussing coming from his room....then he'd come bursting out, all of his bed linens it tow, and throw them out the front door.

We had 3 indoor/outdoor cats at the time, so we had no idea who was doing it. It took us about 4 or 5 poops to catch her.

He never has had any luck with animals....they don't seem to like him.

I'm so sorry but this is one of the FUNNIEST FREAKIN THINGS I have EVER heard!!!! Poor guy but hilarious mental picture haha.

Also, I have not read through the entire thread so perhaps this was suggested already... Some cats will not use the same litter box as another cat. If you have multiple cats that are going in abnormal places and have been checked for medical issues try putting down extra boxes in different areas. There is also a type of litter that is supposed to attract cats....I can't think of what it's called right now but they sell it at Petco and Petsmart and I've heard great things about it!
