And personality can change due to age or circumstance.

My Sussex were very human oriented and often reacted to me -- racing over when called and super curious. They were a group of four purchased together and I really enjoyed them for quite awhile... then we lost one of them to a dog attack. It changed both the group dynamics and their personalities. Actually, maybe it just changed MY interactions with them (I am just realizing) because we do not let them out of their run as much, so they do not have the opportunity to interact with me as much. Their eggs are medium size and light brown.

Two of our chicks from this year that have just begun to lay, a Sapphire Gem and an Australorp, are super friendly. True lap chickens. I'm not sure if we just did a better job with the chicks or if it is genetics.

I guess I am more thinking of my Orpington and Brahma who have both jumped in my lap often to take naps
That seems to be a somewhat common thing with Orpingtons. Mine also enjoys neck scratches. She is very demanding when she wants attention. I got a nice bite to my lip as I was letting my Jersey Giant hang out on my lap when she wanted a turn. She managed to scare my poor JG off my lap and got to take her nap lol
