What are some recycled items that are safe to use in building a coop and run. Are pallets an option? I have access to tons of them! I just wondered about that...

we have a 4x8 coop made entirely of pallet material

Woo Hoo...am picking up 14 construction grade pallets tomorrow and have lots of emails out looking for freebies....Going to build this coop myself as cheaply and as cute as possible!

I saw a great pallet coop posted on here just yesterday. They basically used them as the skeleton and/or frame and put them up with some 2x4's and covered it with some cheap OEB Board, painted it and was done.

My while coop and fencing is made from recycled pallets ill throw a pic up as soon as new egg status gone. Very sturdy if you get the good ones.

The only thing with pallets is you have to be willing to do the work twice. Taking them apart a pulling all the nails. I know a fellow that made a fence all the way around his garden with pallet boards. Looked good.

Ok heres a pic of my all recycled coop from pallets I threw togather because my kids couldnt wait for me to tear a barn down.
