Ok, rabbits are a pain in my rear, but this was too cute so I had to share.....

And here is mom after feeding them....

This is at the farm where my chicks live. My hubby was cutting the lawn and just missed running over the nest with the tire of the lawn mower! My oldest DD found the nest, so we covered it with grass clippings to protect the babies and keep them comfy. When we first found them they were just barely covered with fur, it looked more like velvet. I am happy to see that mom is still taking good care of her babies, even with all of the human 'intervention'.

Sometimes when we would check on them to see if they were still getting looked after, the babies would make little hiccup noises....

Now THAT was cute!

There was an artical in our newspaper that talked about baby bunnies and how it is ok to check up on them and hold them and getting involved with nature. I'll try and find the website tomorrow.

I have never seen a nest in person.

I wish I had my camera when we first found them! They were just a little bit bigger than mice and covered with dark grey fuzz.... you could barely tell they were rabbits.

It's pictures like that that make me sad i'm so allergic to rabbits. They're SOOO Cute!!

I don't know if i'd mess too much with them, if the momma gets too stressed she could abandon them or eat them (though that she hasn't done it yet is a good sign), my parents used to raise rabbits and they lost a fair number of litters to maternal stress.
