For a while, everything was going very smoothly with my poultry keeping. Now I feel terrible, because one of my khaki campbell ducks is missing. I usually let them out of the pen in the evening, so that they get a chance to eat (the older two ducks bully them). I let them stay out a little later than usual. My mom is pretty positive she saw both khaki campbells at 12 AM, when she let the dog out. I left a spotlight on for them so they could see what was going on (the pen is not very far away from the house). And at 1:30 AM, when I went to get them back into the pen, i only saw one. I looked all over the yard with a flashlight, and there was no trace of it. From what I read, I don't think a fox got it. Could it be a raccoon or an owl? By the way, we're in northern New Jersey. Could the duck have just wandered off? Our yard is completely fenced in, but there are some spaces under the fence, where a predator might have gotten in, or the duck may have gotten out. I'm praying that he just got a little bit lost
Any help is greatly appreciated...
