In the Brooder
My birds are 20 weeks tomorrow. I've had one giving us eggs for the last 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. Today, another Rhode Island White came and hopped up onto my outdoors couch with me and start scratching at the cushions as if she was trying to build a nest. She then started cackling loudly for a few minutes. I figured her time was near and put her in a nesting box. About a half hour later she's singing her song again and left behind a nice football shaped egg.
Anyone else have a bird willing to nest by your side? I found it odd, but she is the most personable of the flock.
