Hello and welcome fellow flyboy! I wonder what is the meaning behind your screen name?
The hens I have been priviledged to raise are typically laying an egg every 25-26 hours, meaning, just under 1 a day at their prime. Egg laying typically starts between 6-9 months and continues solid till 2-3 years of age, then gradually declines with age. I am fortunate to live in the country and nobody complains about my Roo. I have always had the joy of waking up to one and don't mind it, but they don't just crow in the morning, ha ha. Whenever the mood strikes. Plus, I only keep gentle ones. They can sometimes just be aggressive and mean for no reason. If you have one of those, get rid of him quick. I have a general rule: If you fight the hand that feeds ya, the hand that feeds ya eats ya!
