Hi everyone not really new to chickens but new at the forum. I had some araucannas years ago incubators etc. Just recently ordered some araucaunnas from ideal poultry last summer ordered 10 hens figured I would end up with about 8.

I ended up with a rooster and 7 hens, well they started laying a month or so ago so I drug out one of the old incubators I had left, that led to a trip to tractor supply for a new one with egg turner since I had sold my good one long ago..

I started collecting blue green eggs the 24th got it about half full gonna try to fill it and do a whole batch, oh I got the little giant incubator and auto turner..

You can store hatching eggs for up to 2 weeks before incubating them, but after 7 days their chance of hatching drops significantly. Just remember to turn the eggs daily, like you'd do with incubating eggs. Good luck with your hatch!

I got them in the turner and plugged it in, it is sitting on a table in the house guess day 6 I will move it into the incubator..

David, welcome to BYC. I agree with Sumi on most everything, but I have had good luck with incubating eggs 2 weeks old and more. A lot depends upon how they are stored during the 'holding period'.
