Another gender question

Any guesses what these two are? They are 2 months old.

The dad is a black wyandotte bantam and the mom is a bantam mixed, silkie X ?

#1.....it has no wattles, not much of a rose comb, but comb is very wide.....I'm thinking roo

#2......this one has a dark comb that looks like the silkie side of mom, also no wattles
I'm thinking pullet on this one

I would say #1 is a roo and #2 could go either way for me...the body looks girly, but I'm seeing a bit of a comb. So hard to tell with Silkie anything!

Funny thing is the dad was about 3 months old before we knew for sure, that's when he crowed.

Until they're basically grown, those bushy tailed, rose combed wyandottes have always kept me guessing.

Wow, the Silkie cross looks soooo much like my Poufy Head Sisters did as younger girls. Here are Kate, Tux and Olivia so you can see the resemblance, then Tux as a baby on the roost bar-looks alot like yours, doesn't she? They are Cochin/Silkie crossed with Barred Rock. Yours seems girly to me.

I think you posted them for my son a while back when we were trying to get some ideas on the "mom's" cross.

I think you said before she looked a lot like one that Lee has now.


I have a 3rd chick from this cross but we're pretty sure it's a roo. He has feathered legs, more than mom does, he also has the little crest, and he has had the brightest little orange wattles and silkie like comb for the longest time. He also has some of the brown/gold coloring coming in on the back of his neck.
You can see his head on the right side of the 2nd pic of bird #1.

Those both look like pullets to me. I don't see anything that indicates rooster on either of them and when you comapre them to thier brother it is even more obvious.
