Hello all ..
Moved to Pasadena a couple years ago after retiring from the USAF after some 25+ yrs.
I grew up on a horse farm and have wanted to have livestock again throughout my entire career.
I know I said horse farm ... but there was once a time we had over 2K chickens quite unexpectedly. One summer we had thought foxes had made off with several doz of our hens ... only to find out they went far off behind the pasture to brood on their own. Only to come home with a few doz chicks each. So we kept them. And just like kids, when they see it's ok for some to do, others seemed to follow suit. Before we knew it, we had over 2k running around!
Now that I've retired, there's no stopping me now!
My wife and I have started w/ just a few chickens and may not continue too much further than that unless I can convince the county to sell me an open lot next to mine. We're outside the city limits, but still find there are a few pesky county ordinances to contend with. We'll figure it out though ...
