I have 4 broodies. I'm trying to let nature take it's course, so I've only marked eggs & removed new eggs when they are off their nests.
I'm letting them sit in their chosen nests in the coops.
Here's the question: Is it safe to leave two hens together?
They are very close and have always hung together.
One has been broody for around 11 days. Her friend joined her 8 days ago and took over some of her eggs & the eggs the other hens laid there that same day. They have 16 eggs total. I marked the ones that were deposited when the second girl started sitting. They are under the poop board in a nest of pine. They have a 4' x 4' space there.
I am wondering if they will fight when the chicks start hatching or is this just a wait and see thing?
I will have to move one of my hens before she hatches. She is in a separate coop but the nest is about 14" from the floor. She is an experienced brooder so I don't expect that to be a problem. The other hen is in a nesting box just about two to three inches from the floor. So no problems there.
Advise ?

I have only had chickens for a year, but I have two broodies in the same little coop right now and they both have babies. They seem to be doing just fine.

Thank you @MinniesMomma that makes me feel much better. As I said, I want to leave them alone to do it their way. I just don't want to find dead chicks because I chose not to interfere.
