First time broody hen & transporting fertilized eggs questions

Ta-daa! Here are the Aloha eggs:

I candled the eggs before I left the farm and again when I got home to make sure they were okay. I wrote (in pencil) the date on each egg. No one in her flock lays eggs that color so there's little chance of confusing them.

This is the happy mama. She left the nest and got some food while I removed the three wooden eggs and replaced them with the real eggs.

When she got back to the nest she stared at the new eggs for a moment. "Where did all these come from?" Then she carefully settled herself onto them and tucked them all under her. She seems very pleased.

Woohoo, someone who has Alohas got back to me about eggs! Lots of people went to the mountains and lakes this weekend and are just now heading home. She said she'd check on the eggs when she gets back.

Don't eggs have to be at least 4 days old to determine if they're fertilized or not?

I've wanted Alohas ever since I found out about them. The breed was created in Arizona and they're sooooo purdy.

I'd consider removing the egg you found earlier if you want all your eggs to hatch at the same time.It likely belongs to one of your other hens(broody hens don't continue laying after going broody)
