Hello Everyone!
We inherited 3 chickens when we bought our house in May of 2021. I am new to Chickens, but My Husband isn't (but it has been 40ish years since he had them)
We currently have 12 Chickens 2 adults and 10 chicks. Our Adults are 1 Suspected Black Australorp, 1 Rhode Island Red (or a Red Sussex). We have 3 Rhode Island Red Chicks (approximately 2 weeks old) 5 Black Austalorps (2- 4 weeks of age) and 2 we aren't quite sure what we picked out of the pen at FF&H. also 2-4 weeks old. We love the friendliness of our Girls and of course, the fresh eggs. The Grand daughter (13 months) has to go look at the "shishkins" several times a day. Both the babies and adults. Since I am retiring this month I plan on helping to raise the youngest grand daughter, putting in a garden, and tending to my extended family and pets on our 5 acre plot. I also love to sew, yarn crafts, and cook. My Husband found BYC looking for answers about our new chicks and asked me to join.
