Another new egg farmer

Hi everyone I have decided to follow an old family tradtion and actually raise some of my own sustenance. Since I live inside city limits I have to be happy with just having chickens and fresh eggs. But on the brighter side I don't get up at four in the morning to collect eggs like dad did on the dairy farm to milk cows. Mom was my influence to get chickens, she had her own flock for about 20 years. Always enjoyed helping her whenever I went to visit. Our flock is a mix of breeds because my wife and son both wanted some different hens. We have five that have been here since memorial day, and we decided to add five more two weeks ago. So far so good.
