Another new guy!

Just an update on the hatching, we ended up with 12 healthy chicks and one not so healthy. The last two healthy chicks came out on Saturday (Day 22). There were six eggs in the incubator yet so I let it run and on Sunday two more pipped. One never made it past that point, the other was about 2/3 zipped on Monday morning. No change by 7pm on Monday night so I made the executive decision to help it out. It's still alive and peeping, one leg was splayed so I wrapped them up and got it to take a little electrolyte water last night and this morning, but it looks weak to me. We'll see how it goes.

But on a more positive note, it was sunny and warm yesterday so the other 12 got a field trip to the backyard! The kids have been handling them quite a bit so they're pretty calm around people.

Congratulations on the chicks! Hope the one you helped makes it:fl

Congratulations! I hope the weak one will improve.
