We have two chicks growing, lost our 9 from a coyote attack about a month ago. We would allow them to free range during the day and lock them in their coops at night. The coyotes broke the window in and took them all.

That sounds awful. Welcome to BYC! I stapled hardware cloth on the inside of my windows so I could still open them to catch a breeze. Hope you have great luck with the new chicks. What breed are they?
