Another newbie curiosity, question.

Okay, we started with one brown leghorn hen. Her eggs are VERY consistent in size, shape and shade of white.
Then, we got two Australorp hens, and, they, too, produce very consistently sized, shaped and colored eggs. So, I was under the impression, that each layer, had kind of a "signature look" about her eggs.
Two weeks ago, we got (all layers, or nearly so-under 14 months old, each) 3 Barnevelders, 8-Production Reds, a Swedish Flower Hen, a Basque hen, and 2-Production Blacks.
We were getting several different size and shapes, to the eggs. Maybe 6 different colors, and 4 differing shapes. The other day, we got a pinkish-beige one, that was a bit differently shaped than previous eggs. Today, two new shapes, and shades, of light brown eggs, and another new shape, to a familiar shade of brown.
Now, the dumb question, to satisfy my curiosity.
Without sequestering each hen, individually, for a period long enough to get several eggs each from them, is it likely that I have had a few hens, who just started laying?
Or, does it mean I was under the wrong impression, and the same hens, might be laying differently colored/shaped/sized eggs?
I'm guessing the latter, as I have been proven wrong, in my presumptions, several times, since getting into keeping chickens.
The tiny egg, here is just my first "Oops egg".

You ay see some variation in defects, like the fart egg, or a isshapen egg, among any flock, but esecially whenthe first start laying. But you won't see three different colors, with the possible exception of when they are several years old. I'd say those are from 3 different chickens.
