Hi everyone! Just retired so starting a new flock, haven't had chickens in many years so I feel like I have forgotten everything. Got 12 SLW and 3 buff orpingtons from a feed store at one week old they're now about a month and all doing great. the 3 Buff's were replacements for my grandsons (they incubated them in class) got at 1 day both died so grandma replaced them, Got 15 banties from Cackle Hatchery they sent 3 extra. I think that was a bad omen one of each breed has died. Apparently I either forgot or never knew about pasty butt (do now the hard way). anyway, hubby working hard on hen house. Chicks started in livingroom and have moved to covered porch. Can't wait to move them to new digs. Wish me luck!!!! Arlene
